"I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and was educated at Martin College and the University of Tennessee, with a major in Education and a minor in Fine Arts. I received my formal art training in college and then further art classes in Monterey, California. I am a member of the Lubbock Art Alliance, The Art League of West Texas and Oil Painters of America.
I work in oil on canvas and my subject matter is primarily that of Native Americans. Their faces inspire me and their hardships, legacy and beauty compel me to paint them.
All forms of art interest me, however,I find southwestern art to be romantic and appealing.
There are many talented southwestern artists of today, but I most admire and respect the work of Howard Terpning."
