Willa grew up riding horses, herding cows, hoeing weeds, and being a young naturalist in Floydada, Texas. Photography entered her world in 1974, when she got her first “real” camera -- a Canon with a macro lens. Seeing the elaborate details of flowers at that magnification continues to give her a deep appreciation of God’s lavish attention on the smallest intricacies in every flower!
Her camera travels with her to all parts of the world, where she has lived in the Middle East, North Africa and in Central Africa, and on business trips in agriculture to Europe, Latin America, and Africa. Flowers, landscapes, architecture, people, and cultural art are all subjects of deep photographic interest for Willa.
